Privacy Policy

1. The short version
No accounts. No advertising trackers. If you sign up for deadline alerts, we store your email address, the state you picked, and optionally the student's grade — only to send those reminders. We never sell your information.
2. What we collect
Email alerts (only if you subscribe): your email address, chosen state, optional grade level, and the date you subscribed. These are stored by our email provider (Resend) and used to send the 30/14/7-day reminders for that state. Calendar downloads are generated on request and stored nowhere — nothing about you is recorded when you download one.
3. Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie-consent banner on this site.
4. How email is used
Reminder emails only: three per deadline cycle for your chosen state (30, 14, and 7 days out), plus a correction email if a state changes its deadline — that's the whole point of the list. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe. We comply with CAN-SPAM: our emails identify us, and unsubscribes are honored promptly by our provider.
5. Sharing
We share your information only with the processors needed to run the site (hosting: Vercel; email: Resend), only for that purpose. We do not sell, rent, or trade email addresses — including to the financial companies mentioned anywhere on this site.
6. Your choices
Unsubscribe from any email to stop reminders and be removed from the active list. A contact address for data requests will be posted here as soon as our domain mailbox is live; in the meantime the unsubscribe link removes you from all mailings.
7. Children
The Aid Window is written for parents, counselors, and adult students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Students under 18 should subscribe with a parent's awareness.
8. Changes & law
If we change what we collect, this page changes first and the effective date updates. This policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
