Oregon FAFSA deadlineOpportunity Grant ASAP / ORSAA — OSAC private scholarships March 1 (program)

What we know: FSA says Oregon Opportunity Grant is ASAP after October 1, 2026 (FAFSA or ORSAA) while funds last. OSAC private scholarships list a March 1, 2027 FAFSA date. Oregon Promise and other grants: contact OSAC — we do not invent a single statewide hard deadline for every path.

Oregon: what to do, step by step

  1. 1

Create StudentAid.gov accounts — student and parent

The student and one parent each need their own account to sign the FAFSA. Identity verification can take a few days, so do this first.

    Create accounts at StudentAid.gov →

  2. 2

File the FAFSA (or ORSAA) ASAP for Opportunity Grant

Opportunity Grant awards while funds last after October 1. Do not wait for a single statewide hard date that FSA does not publish for this path.

Start the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov →

  3. 3

Use OSAC for ORSAA, private scholarships, and Promise questions

ORSAA is the alternate app when you cannot use the FAFSA. Private scholarship apps may need a March 1 FAFSA. Promise and other grants: follow OSAC instructions.

  4. 4

Check college dates, then set a filing reminder

Your real deadline is the earliest of: ASAP Opportunity filing, March 1 for OSAC private scholarships if that is your path, or any earlier college date. Set a reminder for that earliest actionable date.

No fixed statewide calendar date for Oregon — we won't invent one. You can still download an .ics with the federal deadline and any secondary date we list.

.ics includes federal (and any secondary date) — not a fake state deadline.

  5. 5

When a reminder arrives: finish filing

That email or calendar alert means it is time to act. Finish (or fix) your FAFSA, submit it, and confirm each college on your list got it. Then you're done until aid offers arrive.
