Indiana FAFSA deadlineApr 15, 2027

April 15 is Indiana's priority FAFSA deadline for major state aid — including the Frank O’Bannon Grant and the 21st Century Scholarship. File every year you are in college; Scholars must meet this date to keep the scholarship on track.

Indiana: what to do, step by step

  1. 1

Create StudentAid.gov accounts — student and parent

The student and one parent each need their own account to sign the FAFSA. Identity verification can take a few days, so do this first.

    Create accounts at StudentAid.gov →

  4. 4

Check college dates, then set a filing reminder

Your real deadline is the earliest of: Indiana's April 15 priority date, or any earlier date a college on your list sets. Set a reminder for that date now — email or calendar — so you get nudged before it hits.

    .ics includes state + federal deadlines with 30 / 14 / 7-day reminders.

  5. 5

When a reminder arrives: finish filing

That email or calendar alert means the deadline is close. Finish (or fix) your FAFSA, complete any ScholarTrack steps, and confirm each college on your list. Then you're done until aid offers arrive.

What Indiana applicants need to know

  • 21st Century Scholars: file the FAFSA by April 15 as a high school senior and each year in college, and track Scholar Success / ScholarTrack requirements separately.
  • Some programs (Adult Student Grant, Workforce Ready) may need additional forms in ScholarTrack beyond the FAFSA.
  • Colleges can set earlier institutional dates — check every school on your list.

Watch out

21st Century Scholars who miss April 15 can lose the scholarship path even if federal aid is still open — treat April 15 as non-negotiable.
