District of Columbia FAFSA deadline2027–28 OneApp window not yet dual-sourced — FSA lists dates; OSSE still on 2026–27
What we know: Federal Student Aid lists June 25, 2027 for DC priority FAFSA consideration and July 1, 2027 for DCTAG OneApp + supporting documents priority. What is not yet confirmed on this page: OSSE / DC OneApp are still publishing the 2026–27 application window (open Feb. 2, 2026 through Aug. 21, 2026). Until OSSE dual-sources 2027–28 OneApp dates, we will not treat FSA’s June 25 / July 1 as verified hard deadlines here.

District of Columbia: what to do, step by step
- 1
Create StudentAid.gov accounts — student and parent
The student and one parent each need their own account to sign the FAFSA. Identity verification can take a few days, so do this first.
- 2
File the FAFSA for the award year you need — do not invent a 2027–28 OneApp close date
FSA mentions June 25, 2027 for DC priority consideration, but OSSE has not dual-sourced the 2027–28 OneApp calendar on this check. File early for federal aid and watch OSSE for DCTAG.
- 3
Follow OSSE / DC OneApp for DCTAG — confirm the published cycle
DCTAG uses DC OneApp plus supporting documents. Today OSSE still describes the 2026–27 window. Re-check before you treat any 2027–28 date as final.
- 4
Check college dates, then set a filing reminder
No dual-sourced 2027–28 OneApp calendar date to put on this page yet. Set a reminder against your earliest college deadline, and re-check OSSE when the next OneApp window is posted.
No fixed statewide calendar date for District of Columbia — we won't invent one. You can still download an .ics with the federal deadline.
.ics includes federal (and any secondary date) — not a fake state deadline.
- 5
When a reminder arrives: finish filing
That email or calendar alert means it is time to act. Finish (or fix) your FAFSA, submit it, and confirm each college on your list got it. Then you're done until aid offers arrive.
