Arizona FAFSA deadlineApr 1, 2027

This page is scoped to the Arizona Promise Program — not a single statewide grant deadline for every Arizona student. FSA and the Arizona Board of Regents both point to April 1, 2027 for Promise priority FAFSA filing (ASU/NAU/UArizona path). Campus institutional priority dates can still be earlier.

Arizona: what to do, step by step

  1. 1

Create StudentAid.gov accounts — student and parent

The student and one parent each need their own account to sign the FAFSA. Identity verification can take a few days, so do this first.

    Create accounts at StudentAid.gov →

  2. 2

File the FAFSA by April 1, 2027 for Arizona Promise priority

Promise priority consideration uses the April 1 FAFSA date. File earlier if a university on your list publishes an earlier institutional priority date.

Start the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov →

  3. 3

Confirm Promise eligibility with ABOR / your university

Promise covers tuition and fees for qualifying Pell-eligible Arizona residents at the three public universities. Read ABOR’s Promise page and your campus aid site.

  4. 4

Check college dates, then set a filing reminder

Your real deadline is the earliest of: Promise April 1, any earlier campus priority date, or another college date. Set a reminder for that earliest date.

    .ics includes state + federal deadlines with 30 / 14 / 7-day reminders.

  5. 5

When a reminder arrives: finish filing

That email or calendar alert means it is time to act. Finish (or fix) your FAFSA, submit it, and confirm each college on your list got it. Then you're done until aid offers arrive.

What Arizona applicants need to know

  • Program-scoped: April 1 is Promise priority — Arizona residents with qualifying need/GPA enrolling at ASU, NAU, or the University of Arizona.
  • ABOR notes campus FAFSA priority dates can differ (e.g. ASU often earlier than April 1). Check each university on your list.
  • Other Arizona aid: check your college financial aid office — FSA does not publish a single hard statewide date beyond Promise.

Watch out

Labeled as Promise-scoped on purpose — Arizona does not get a fake statewide hard deadline on this site beyond what FSA and ABOR publish for Promise.
